Liverpool, £75k + Excellent Package
Part of a 50/50 Joint Venture between Serco and NedRailways, Merseyrail is a progressive, innovative and award winning public transport operator, managing a highly successful urban network of vital importance to the infrastructure of Liverpool and Merseyside.
One of Britain’s best performing and most intensively used railways, it runs almost 800 train services daily and handles 30 million passenger journeys per year. With 67 stations and over 1,100 employees, its network covers 75 route miles in and around Liverpool in addition to a core city centre underground network, which includes 6.5miles of tunnels and 5 underground stations.
Merseyrail is undergoing a change from a culture of compliance to an organisation which is much more customer focused with high levels of employee engagement.
Playing a significant role in the ongoing regeneration of Liverpool, Merseyrail is an Official Supporter of Liverpool’s European Capital of Culture year.
The organisation is looking to recruit a forward thinking and “hands on” HR professional to help guide them through a period of tremendous change and opportunity. The role will report to the Managing Director.
Key Result Areas:
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies and practices which support the future requirements of the business
- Build high levels of employee engagement
- Implement talent management and people development processes that build organisational and individual capability
- Ensure the HR function operates as a true business partner for the business as a whole
Candidate Profile
- Proactive and visionary, with total confidence in the value that innovative and proactive people management adds to a complex changing business
- Experience of implementing successful employee engagement strategies
- Personal credibility to operate at Board level and the ability to contribute to the wider business agenda
- Strong communicator with a proven track record in translating strategic intent into results
