The post of Human Resources Manager exists at each power station to provide authoritative HR advice and guidance in support of Company and Station goals and targets as well as the development of HR strategies in support of the overall HR business plan. Each HRM is accountable to both the HR Business Partner for British Energy Generation and also the Station Director. The post sits on the station management team and is responsible for line management of the station HR team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contributing and evaluating the station business plan, identifying areas within the plan for HR alignment with key company imperatives to facilitate organisational development.
- Work alongside Senior Management Team to develop the leadership direction and culture consistent with the strategic imperatives of BE
- Providing human resources advice and guidance to line managers including guidance on employee relations issues and employment legislation
- Supporting leadership development, by promoting company leadership values, and leading changes affecting performance management.
- Encouraging the long-term development of organisation transformational change by promoting company processes and value adding HR practices which promote continuous improvement.
- Manage the HR team and report on metrics/KPIs
Candidate Profile:
- Graduate or graduate calibre with generalist experience gained in an operational business environment. CIPD qualified would be advantageous.
- Detailed understanding of all aspects of Human Resource Management including recruitment, retention, performance management, management/leadership development and employee relations and engagement
- Experience of both the development and implementation of HR strategy. Strong conceptual and strategic thinker who can ‘run with ideas’
- Able to develop the management team and grow a culture within the organisation
- Intellectually rigorous with the ability to understand complex issues and influence a bright workforce
- Track record of coaching, motivating and influencing change
- Able to demonstrate leadership values and deploy with conviction a senior management role.
