Windsor, then Denham, South Bucks, from July 2008, £60k-£70k + benefits
IHG is a well known international hotel company with more guest rooms than any other hotel company in the world. The company operates 7 hotel brands – InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites.
At present, there is a fledgling EMEA Shared Services facility, which manages some transactional HR support work, but this is still to be developed fully. Currently based in Windsor, it will move to Denham this year.
The HRBP EMEA Corporate & Global Functions is a newly created role, which now exists following the previous incumbent’s internal move to provide dedicated support to the Finance function. It will report directly the Senior Vice-President, HR, with management responsibility for one HR professional. Administrative support is provided.
Key Result Areas
- Deliver an effective, business aligned, legally compliant full HR.
- Communicate, drive and embed the Employee Commitment programme within the Corporate offices.
- Champion the IHG values, promoting a working environment that reflects the company’s winning ways and promotes a strong work ethic.
- Work with functional heads to manage and develop the organisation talent pool.
- Manage recruitment, selection and orientation processes.
- Develop and implement HR initiatives & policies to enhance overall organisation effectiveness and individual performance.
Candidate Profile
- Ambitious, commercial HR generalist with high quality experience gained in well-respected multi-national, multi-cultural businesses.
- Degree preferably in business, human resources or equivalent experience.
- Experience of operating outside the UK and a knowledge of foreign languages would be helpful.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the energy and ability to enthuse, inspire and influence.
- Strong team player, with an aptitude for relationship management, cross cultural sensitivity and good networking skills.
- Knowledge and experience of change management with the ability to operate in an international matrix environment.
- Strengths in employee engagement and communications, with knowledge and understanding of employer branding and talent attraction.
- Good ER understanding and capability, with credibility at all levels within the business.
