British Energy – Maintenance Manager
Dungeness B Power Station, Based in Ashford, Kent. Good base salary + bonus
British Energy is the UK's largest producer of electricity, generating around one-fifth of the nation's needs and making a powerful contribution to the country.
An opportunity currently exists for a Maintenance Manager at Dungeness B Power station. The maintenance department is a key activity within the station organisation charged with the responsibility of ensuring optimum plant availability for economic generation of its agreed electrical output.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing their team, they will have the ability to grasp and develop strategic concepts and issues, as well as making a meaningful overall contribution to the senior management team. He/she will need substantial knowledge of nuclear and conventional plant and a detailed knowledge of the site licence conditions and legislation associated with the safe operation of the plant. In addition he/she will demonstrate excellent leadership skills, and be a strong influencer with exceptional interpersonal skills and have a proven track record for delivering results.
British Energy are seeking someone with a relevant professional qualification and registered, or leading to, CEng accreditation; a minimum of 10 years experience of power plant maintenance and/or engineering with at least 3 years in a senior management/leadership role. You will have extensive knowledge of the operational and design features of nuclear and conventional power station electrical plant and the ability to assimilate complex technical information and make optimum engineering judgements.
