Mike has a degree in Psychology and a post-graduate qualification in Personnel Management.
He has worked in the UK, Europe and the US for major multinationals including, Avon, Rowntree, Unilever and Hewlett-Packard. His experience embraces all aspects of HRM including significant turnarounds, top level resourcing, compensation and benefits, mergers and acquisitions and executive development.
Since leaving corporate life, he has consulted at Board level and established Corporate Research Forum, Strategic Dimensions and PARC.
He has an international network of practitioners, academics, politicians and consultants. He was a founding member of the Guild of HR Professionals and is a judge at HR events and awards.
Dan is Senior Director at Strategic Dimensions as well as an active member of our CRF and PARC networks.
Dan manages the Executive Search operation at Strategic Dimensions as well as recruiting at HR Director level in Recognition & Reward, Talent, Resourcing, Organisational Effectiveness, Leadership Development, and Employee Communications. He has extensive experience recruiting into large, global multinationals as well as supporting small start-up organisations in developing their first HR function. His experience is multi-sector and spans the UK and Europe.
Over the past twelve years his unwavering belief in providing the very highest levels of candidate and client care has enabled him to build a market-leading network across the HR community. Dan is passionate about delivering a premier service and this has led to a near 100% success rate on major searches and securing repeat business.
In addition to his recruitment work he is always keen to provide advice and guidance to HR professionals and is equipped to provide valuable insights to candidates on their career and development as well as sharing mutually beneficial connections.
Dan has been working in recruitment consultancy since 1997, joining Strategic Dimensions in 2006. He started his career post-graduation with Tesco, progressing into a number of general management roles before moving into recruitment in 1997.
In her role as a Director at SD, Karen advises on role creation, talent planning and the recruitment of HR talent into a client’s business. She partners with clients to identify, engage and hire at the CPO and HR Director level as well as leaders, consultants and specialists in Recognition & Reward, Learning, Talent Management, Resourcing, Organisational Design & Effectiveness, Leadership Development, Wellbeing and Employee Communications. She works with a broad range of FTSE 350 companies as well as private companies, start-ups and other equity backed ventures.
Karen’s role includes member and partner engagement for the PARC and CRF businesses. She is instrumental in PARC’s Reward Masterclass and other learning programmes aligned with her interest in the development of HR talent and capability, encompassing reward, performance and wellbeing.
Karen also works as an executive coach with individuals and teams across sector and role profile, including on a pro-bono basis with social enterprises and charities. She has a qualification in executive coaching at EMCC Senior Practitioner level from Tavistock Consulting.
Julie Sharr is a Director at Strategic Dimensions and leads assignments to recruit HR leaders and functional specialists across multiple business sectors. Working with large multinational corporations, SMEs and private companies, Julie recruits in the UK and across Europe. She also manages the interface with our North American search partner, hrQ.
Julie has 20 years’ experience in HR Executive Search. Prior to joining Strategic Dimensions, she held an international HR and recruitment role in the energy industry. She graduated with a BA in French, Swedish and European Literature and holds a Master’s in HR Management.
Chris is Head of the Interim Practice at Strategic Dimensions.
He recruits at a senior level, covering Generalists (from CPO to SHRBP), Reward, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, OD/OE, L&D, Leadership, HRIS and SSC/GBS implementation. He works with a broad range of FTSE 350 companies as well as private companies, start-ups and private equity backed ventures.
Chris offers services across a full range of industries, as well as in a range of European geographies.
His main interest is in change management; viewing interim as both a reactive and proactive tool to achieve capability development and sustained performance improvement within HR and the broader business.
Chris has worked within Interim Search since 2012. Before moving into this space, Chris worked in FM services providing Commercial and Operational leadership in a PE backed environment. He graduated from Lancaster University in Politics and is currently studying for his MBA.
Michael Whelan is a Consultant at Strategic Dimensions.
He recruits Generalist HR roles at a variety of levels as well as leaders and specialists in Reward, Talent, Resourcing, Leadership Development and Employee Relations.
He has worked with growth companies and start-ups as well as large international enterprises. His experience extends across industry and geographical sectors including EMEA and APAC, and he has a strong international and UK network.
Michael started his career in Executive Search in 2014, initially as a researcher. He graduated with a BSc in Human & Physical Geography from the University of Reading.
Caspar is a Consultant at Strategic Dimensions.
He began his career in Executive Search as a researcher after he graduated from Sussex University with first class honours in Business Management with Organisational Leadership. As a researcher he supported the consultancy team by scouring our existing network of HR professionals and conducting fresh search to find the best talent available.
Caspar now recruits HR generalists throughout the UK with particular focus on HR Business Partners. He also has experience recruiting specialists in Reward, Talent and Resourcing
Alice leads the Research team at Strategic Dimensions.
She has previously worked as a Consultant within the business, recruiting senior HR professionals across a diverse range of industry sectors including technology, retail, automotive, FMCG and financial services.
Alice and her team identify and engage Senior HR Generalists and Reward / ER / Talent / OD / Resourcing specialists with domestic and international experience. She sources a longlist of potential candidates and assesses their technical capability as well as cultural and organisational fit before passing to a Director/Consultant for detailed interview, prior to presenting a shortlist.
Alice has worked in HR search since graduating from the University of Reading in 1996, and as such is a familiar name in the HR community.
Ralph started his career in specialist agency and RPO hiring, before progressing in-house, providing direct resourcing solutions for FTSE250 and private equity backed businesses.
He has an extensive network covering multiple sectors and has built strong HR knowledge through years of partnering with busy HR teams and leading in-house resourcing functions.
Ralph also offers solid international hiring experience having directly delivered multiple hiring projects across EMEA, APAC and North America.
Natalie is a researcher at Strategic Dimensions with a solid background in research and recruitment in the HR industry.
She works on projects starting at Business Partner level through to HR Director and has extensive experience of working in the Reward, Talent, Learning & Development and Organisation Development functions.
She works across sector and has an extensive network within the UK HR community, especially within the Reward specialism.
Natalie previously worked in Reward and has a strong understanding of Executive Compensation.
Eva is Executive Assistant to Mike Haffenden. Her support extends across all three businesses, particularly, at PARC where she organises and co-ordinates all the events in the annual programme, as well as acting as first point of contact for members.
Prior to joining Strategic Dimensions, Eva spent her earlier career working in large blue-chip IT organisations supporting CEOs, MDs and Vice Presidents.
Emily is an Executive Assistant at Strategic Dimensions, where her role is to provide efficient and professional end-to-end support to a team of consultants, their clients and candidates.
Prior to this Emily supported the Head of UK & Europe at a leading energy trade association and a team of recruitment consultants from Junior through to Director Level.
Emily also has experience in events and training, facilitating business presentations, conferences, training courses and networking opportunities for industry professionals.
Harriet Ojo is the Senior Design Executive for the SD, CRF and PARC businesses.
She leads on all SD marketing and brand management activity encompassing SD’s extensive events calendar and external communications including the SD website. Across each of our three businesses she has accountability for the design and layout of all printed and soft copy materials, marketing collateral, membership programmes and reports. Harriet has always had a passion for graphic design and user experience which has led to her taking a lead in the development of interactive assets and the innovation of online resources for SD, CRF & PARC.
She has particular skills in the use of layout and formatting to enhance usability and the value of shared content and communication. Before joining SD in 2014 as an Executive Assistant, she worked in creative roles within the publishing sector.
Harriet graduated with a First-Class Honours degree in Events Management from Cardiff Metropolitan University.
Nigel is the Financial Controller for Strategic Dimensions and its associated businesses.
He has extensive experience in accountancy, taxation and payroll.
Nigel is responsible for all financial matters including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, taxation and monitoring business performance.
